When Definition Feels Just Out of Reach
You put in the work at the gym, yet the toned, firm definition you want in your core or lower body remains elusive. Genetics, time, and life's demands can make it difficult to reach that last level of muscle definition through exercise alone, leaving you feeling that your results never quite match your effort.

How CoolTone Works
CoolTone uses magnetic muscle stimulation to penetrate through skin and fat directly to the underlying muscle. This energy prompts rapid, involuntary contractions that are far more intense than those achieved through typical exercise. Over a series of sessions, this conditioning helps the muscles become stronger, firmer, and more defined.
Different Goals. The Same Target: Muscle.
CoolTone is muscle training, not fat reduction. Patients may have different reasons for strengthening, toning, or firming the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs.
Strength and Conditioning
Some patients want targeted strength or conditioning rather than a change in weight. CoolTone may stimulate the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs as part of a broader strengthening strategy. For some, the goal is less about visible abdominal definition and more about core strength and stability within an overall fitness or functional-strength program.
During or After Significant Weight Loss
Significant weight loss can involve loss of lean mass as well as fat. For patients in medically managed weight-loss programs, including GLP-based therapy, maintaining muscle is an important part of the plan. CoolTone may provide targeted muscle stimulation of the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs while resistance training, adequate protein, nutrition, and appropriate medical management support the broader muscle-preservation strategy.
Aesthetic Muscle Development
Some patients are interested in firmer abdominal musculature, a stronger or more developed gluteal contour, or improved thigh tone and definition. CoolTone targets the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs, with results that vary by anatomy, goals, and response, not a promised increase in muscle size.
Hormone Optimization and Muscle Goals
Some patients receiving medically appropriate hormone optimization are also focused on rebuilding, maintaining, or developing muscle. CoolTone may be incorporated as targeted muscle training of the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs while hormone therapy, resistance training, nutrition, protein intake, and recovery address other parts of the muscle-health strategy. These have distinct roles; no enhanced hormone effect is implied.
CoolTone can provide targeted muscle stimulation, but resistance training, adequate protein, nutrition, recovery, and overall metabolic health remain important parts of maintaining muscle. It does not replace exercise, rehabilitation, hormone therapy, or appropriate medical care.
Muscle Is Only One Part of Body Contour
Body appearance and function reflect more than one tissue layer. Understanding which layer is creating the concern helps determine what belongs in the plan.
- Fat
- Localized subcutaneous fat is a different concern from muscle tone. CoolSculpting may address that fat layer when appropriate.
- Muscle
- CoolTone targets muscle strength, tone, and firmness. It does not directly reduce fat or cause weight loss.
- Skin
- When skin laxity or skin quality is part of the concern, treatments such as Matrix Pro or UltraClear may be considered where appropriate.
- Weight and Metabolic Health
- When overall weight or metabolic health is the primary issue, medical weight-management strategies address a different part of the problem.
The goal is not to use every treatment. It is to identify which layer is limiting the result and address that layer appropriately.
What to Expect: Intense Contractions, No Real Downtime
What It Feels Like
CoolTone produces repeated involuntary contractions in the targeted muscle group. Intensity can be adjusted according to your tolerance. Expect an active, intense sensation rather than a passive treatment; it is not painful for everyone.
A Targeted Session
Your treatment plan identifies the muscle groups to address. The Clinical Team will review session timing and what to expect for your planned areas before treatment.
Back to Your Day
CoolTone generally does not require procedural recovery time, and patients may return to normal activity afterward. Temporary muscle soreness, fatigue in the treated muscle, muscle spasm, skin redness, or localized discomfort can occur.
It Is a Training Series
Muscle conditioning builds gradually, so CoolTone is typically performed as a series over several weeks rather than a single isolated session. The number of treatments and any maintenance are individualized according to goals, activity level, and response.
What Progress Looks Like
Stronger
Treatment may contribute to improved muscle performance and targeted strength in the treated muscle group. Specific functional improvements are not guaranteed.
Firmer
Patients may notice improved muscle tone and firmness as conditioning develops.
More Defined
For patients seeking an aesthetic result, increased tone or muscle development may create more visible definition in the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs.
Visible definition also depends on body-fat level, skin quality, anatomy, training, and nutrition. Muscle tone alone does not guarantee visible abdominal definition through the overlying fat layer. Results vary.
