The Endless Cycle of Shaving and Waxing
Unwanted hair demands constant attention, from razor burn and ingrown hairs to the never-ending schedule of waxing appointments. Beyond hair, visible vessels and pigmented spots can add to the sense that your skin never feels quite polished.
Life Today
Shaving daily, booking recurring waxing sessions, hiding areas prone to ingrown hairs or visible vessels.
Life After GentleMax Pro
Noticeably reduced hair, smoother skin, and a more even complexion that frees you from the constant upkeep.
How GentleMax Pro Works
GentleMax Pro combines an Alexandrite 755nm laser with an Nd:YAG 1064nm laser, giving our Clinical Team the flexibility to match the right wavelength to your skin type and concern. The energy is absorbed by the hair follicle, vessel, or pigment while a cooling burst protects the skin's surface, allowing for effective, comfortable treatment.
When GentleMax Pro May Be the Right Choice
Unwanted hair
Helps reduce unwanted hair across many areas of the body, with two wavelengths that allow treatment across a range of skin types.
Ingrown hairs and razor irritation
A longer-term alternative to the constant cycle of shaving and waxing that leaves many prone to irritation.
Visible vessels and pigmented spots
Can address certain vascular concerns such as visible vessels and may improve pigmented lesions and sun spots.
What Laser Hair Removal Involves
Preparation
Our Clinical Team evaluates your skin and hair or vascular concern and selects the appropriate wavelength and settings. The area is cleansed, and for hair removal it is typically shaved beforehand.
During treatment
The laser delivers pulses paired with a cooling burst as it passes over the target area. Most patients describe a brief snapping sensation followed by a cool burst, with sessions designed to be efficient and fit into a busy schedule.
Right afterward
Mild redness or bumps around the follicles may appear and usually settle within hours to a day. Most patients return to normal activities right away with sun protection.
The series
Treated hair sheds over the following weeks, and because hair grows in cycles, a series of sessions is typically recommended for cumulative reduction.
Distinct Roles in a Combined Plan
Nordlys
Pair hair reduction with light-based improvement of tone and redness to refine tone and texture together.
Medical Facials
Support smooth, healthy skin between laser sessions.
Understanding the Treatment
Laser hair removal is one of the most requested treatments in aesthetics, and one of the most dependent on matching the right wavelength to the right skin.
The target is the follicle, not the hair
The laser's energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, which carries heat down into the follicle that produces it. That is why hair needs to be present in the follicle at treatment time, and why shaving beforehand is fine but waxing is not.
Why hair growth cycles matter
Only follicles in their active growth phase respond fully to treatment, and at any moment just a portion of your hair is in that phase. A series of sessions spaced weeks apart is how treatment catches each follicle at the right time.
Why two wavelengths matter
The 755 nm Alexandrite wavelength is strongly absorbed by pigment and suits lighter skin, while the 1064 nm Nd:YAG penetrates deeper with gentler surface absorption, making it a careful choice for deeper skin tones. Having both lets the plan fit the patient rather than the reverse, and is why skin type and hair characteristics guide which wavelength and settings are chosen.

Where This Fits in Your Treatment Strategy
Laser hair removal is usually a focused treatment plan rather than part of facial rejuvenation. It is selected when reducing unwanted hair is the primary goal, and the plan is tailored to your skin type, treatment area, and maintenance needs.
